When was the last time you asked yourself how do I feel? When was the last time you allowed yourself to take a deep breath and enjoy everything around you? When was the last time your well-being was not an option but a priority?

Currently, I take care of them have become “if I have time I take a break”, I feel them in “it’s nothing, I’m just a little tired” and I live them in “I survive from day to day”. This causes our mental and physical health to be affected by a multitude of harmful stressors that do us a lot of harm.

To feel good you have to take care of yourself and the current pace of life makes taking care of yourself very difficult. But for this, mindfulness has emerged, as a tool to be able to bear stress while we continue with the activities of our daily life.

Mindfulness for everyday life

To get started in mindfulness you just have to want to take care of yourself and begin to follow the following steps, first in a quiet place, and then once mastered, use them in your daily life thus improving your health:

  • : When we are anxious or angry, our breathing rate is accelerated, which makes our heart beat faster signaling that we are not well. We don’t have to try to control or change our breathing, just by paying attention to it, by being aware, its rhythm changes.
  • : ask yourself how do I feel? What is my body saying? Becoming aware of your own body makes those uncomfortable sensations, which can appear during meditation, begin to be part of that unique moment. In this way that pain or discomfort can enter the field of our consciousness and be accepted without judging it as something unwanted. Remember that these feelings are teachings about ourselves.
  • : listen to your world, the leaves of the trees or the cars, the silence or the bustle of people. It is not passing by, it is being part of something, living it. Feel the present moment, feel, but without the need to move, because if the mind is restless the body follows, the two are connected.
  • : When we begin meditation rivers of thoughts usually burst into our minds. Some are more anxious than others, but all are equally important, the content does not have to be taken into account. In this case, it is not about forbidding us to think but about concentrating again on the breath. We observe the thoughts and let them pass by focusing on the way we breathe.

These steps are a preliminary exposition of what it is to start in the art of mindfulness, in the art of feeling, living and taking care of yourself. At first it will be difficult, but if you start little by little in a comfortable place, sitting firmly and without crossing your legs, mastery of the technique will come with practice and you will have such control over it that you can apply it anytime and anywhere.

I feel good if I look for time to be not to do

I feel good if I take time to be, not to do. I feel good if I take care of myself, if I live with full intensity, not if I just watch life go by burdened by the tasks that define a future that is yet to come.

Taking care of yourself and being aware of yourself and your well-being will improve your health, your immune system is stronger and your mind is clearer. It will make you rest better and your performance, therefore, be greater. Taking care of yourself with mindfulness will make you have time to be and enjoy yourself, what are you waiting for!
